Ms. Slover-Athey has been in banking for 27 years and is currently a Senior Vice President and Director of Community Engagement for SouthState Bank. She is responsible for implementing and administering all aspects of the Bank’s Community Reinvestment Act program. She is instrumental in establishing, participating, and maintaining relationships with community based charitable organizations that aid the low – to moderate-income with focus on affordable housing development, technical assistance, and economic development. She is actively involved in several community groups and professional organizations. Her passion is educating and sharing knowledge that will help to improve someone’s day! Mellissa enjoys being a conjoiner of individuals and organizations to improve efficiencies and opportunities so we’re all working smarter, not harder. She works to motivate others to share their time and talent in their local communities. Mellissa volunteers with various organizations in Central Florida, including leadership roles with Ability Housing Inc., The Center for Independent Living, BBIF, and The Jobs Partnership.
