Other Ways to Give

Your generosity is the key

There are many ways to make a meaningful gift to Ability Housing.

The best choice for you will depend on your individual circumstances. Please discuss your gift with your attorney or tax advisor before making a decision.

You can help support our mission for many years to come simply by signing your name. Consider naming Ability Housing as a beneficiary of any of these types of accounts:

  • Retirement Accounts
  • Life Insurance Policies
  • Bank or Brokerage Accounts
  • Certificates of Deposit
  • Donor-Advised Funds

If you are over age 70 ½, consider supporting Ability Housing directly through your Individual Retirement Account (IRA). Giving a donation to a qualified charity, such as Ability Housing, directly from your IRA can yield tax savings for you and provide valuable support to Ability Housing. Please consult with your advisors regarding the tax benefits of such gifts and your plan administrator for the required forms.

Gifts of appreciated publicly traded securities can offer attractive tax benefits. Please contact Maureen Natkin, Director of Development and Engagement, for instructions on making an electronic transfer of stock. She can be reached at (904) 359-9650 ex. 112 or mnatkin@abilityhousing.org

Did you know that one sentence in your will can make a lifetime of difference? A quick phone call to your lawyer to add a gift to Ability Housing in your will is one of the easiest and most flexible ways that you can make a lasting impact – helping Ability Housing build flourishing communities where everyone has a home for years to come. With a will, you can designate a specific dollar amount, a specific asset, a percentage of your estate, or the residual amount of your estate after other beneficiaries receive specified amounts.

Your gift will mean the world to us, but what’s in it for you and your family?

  • You decide how much to give – no gift is too small.
  • Your gift costs you nothing now.
  • You retain control of your assets during your lifetime and, if your circumstances change, you can modify the gift.
  • You can reduce the tax burden on your estate.
  • You can leave a gift in honor or memory of someone who inspired your commitment to Ability Housing.
  • You will be remembered for your dedication to our mission: building flourishing communities where everyone has a home.

If you have any questions about leaving a gift to Ability Housing in your will, please contact Maureen Natkin at (904) 359-9650 ex. 112 or mnatkin@abilityhousing.org. If you have been so generous as to include a gift to Ability Housing as part of your estate plan, please let us know!
